👗Fan Bingbing vs Kate Mara

Erdem x H&M collaboration has been a sale success all over the world, so it's no surprise that celebs loved it as well!
The first who wore this Erdem x H&M floral dress has been Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, during the press junket of her new movie "Sky Hunter", last September. She looked ethereal as always, with her sikly black hair left loose and just a pendant earring to complete the look.
On the other side of the world, American actress Kate Mara wore the same dress  at the  H&M x ERDEM Runway Show & Party, held in Los Angeles, last October. She went for her signature slick back hairstyle and wore a body cross brown mini purse.

FYI - This dress has been worn by Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden as well, while hosting a reception at Haga Palace.

Who do you think wore it better?
Fan Bingbing or Kate Mara?

🎬 Movie Review: The Snowman

Harry Hole is a dective for the Oslo police department, but his alchool abuse makes it difficult for his sergent to give him the high profile cases he asks for. Not that it is a problem for Harry, who decides to help the department’s newbie detective Katrine Bratt with her investigation on a series of murders perpetrated on single or negligent moms.

It appears that a serial killer is targeting only single moms (or moms to be) that he consider bad moms and not worthy of such an important role. What's most disturbing isn't the motive, but how he kills them: cutting their troats and placing their heads on two big snowballs, making them the creepiest snow(wo)men.
While on their investigations, Harry and Katrine cross their path with business man Arve Stop and his ambiguous 'friend' Dr.Vetlesen, whom seem to be involved in a not to clear series of abortions.

Like this isn't enought, Harry has an ex girlfriend, Rakel, and their relationship is messed up. They both can't move on from each other, but Rakel has another partner, Mathias, and Harry doesn't want to get back together, still he hangs close to them because he cares a lot about Rakel's son, Oleg.

Things start to turn difficult and dangerous for Harry and Katrine as they manage to put the puzzle pieces together and figure out who the serial killer is.

My Opinion👍👎
The story itself is good, the problems here are the endless moments of silence, wvwn if there are people in the scene, and the continuous change of year which, at the end of the 2 hours, is pretty confusing.
The actor aren't able to fully portray their characters feelings (or should I say demons?) and a few of the scenes are completely irrelevant to the main story, nor they even make sense...
Example: Harry Hole/Michael Fassebend arrives back into his appartament late at night and finds the mould man working with a really loud music on...Now, I've never been in Norway, but it can't be normal to find someone you don't know in your appartmant, at that time of the night!!

I know that adapting a best selling novel to make it an equal good movie must be challenging, but the parallel stories are mixed up and pointless, since they don't get their proper endings.

No, I'm sorry to say it, but this is a movie to avoid.

Would I pay the full prize ticket? I think it'd be better if you skip the movie, read the book if you're curious.

Raking: 2/5

👗Who Wore it Better: Chiara Ferragni Edition

Web influencer Chiara Ferragni has been on top of her game for years now, whether you love her or not.
Personally, I like that an Italian girl (patriotism mode: on!) managed to create a new kind of job from scratches, thanks to Internet and her love for fashion, but this doesn't mean she's immune to #WWIB a matter of fact, we had quite a lot her on the blog and today's no difference.

Here's to you the latest looks that have been worn by Chiara and other celebs in the past weeks!
Chiara Ferragni wore the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini top and studded leather skirt at the designer's fashion show during this past Milan Fashion Week and also for her "Chiara Ferragni Collection" shop grand opening, this September. She completed the look with a black bomber jacket and ankle boots, both from her collection.
Portuguese model Sara Sampaio wore the same top, at the private viewing, hosted by Vogue, for the Irving Penn exhibition, during Paris Fashion Week. She matched it with high waist grey trousers and black pumps.
Grey's Anatomy actress Kelly McCreary wore Sara's exact same look at the series 300th episode celebration, earlier this November. She matched it with metallic gold shoes.
Chiara Ferragni was the last of these trio to wear this coutry vibe dress by CD while attending thes the Christian Dior show during this past Paris Fashion Week.  She styled it with a studden red shoulder bag and baby blue shoes.
French actress Charlotte Le Bon wore a modified version of the dress, opting for a rose embellished non sheer bustier. She added black pumps, an embroidered white clutch and a magnetic orange eye make up.
American actress Margaret Qualley has been the first to be spotted wearing the rainbow-inspired dress, at the New York premiere of her latest movie 'Death Note'. She matched it with plum sandals and barely there makeup.
Chiara Ferragni and Pamela Anderson wore the same green embellished Miu Miu min dress while attending respectively the fashion show and the after party, nearly 2 months ago, in Paris. Chiara styled it with a furry white coat and embellished pink shoes, while Pamela opted for the "wow factor" and wore colourful open-toe pumps and a went for no make up.
Chiara Ferragni wore this Prada bright blue crop top and matched feathered skirt at the  #BoF500 gala dinner, held during this past September New York Fashion Week. She completed the outfit with yellow/acquamarine Mary Jane heels.
Giovanna Battaglia attended some fashion shows during Paris Fashion Week with the same attire, but styled it with a yellow coat and velvet navy blue sandals.

Who wore these looks better?
Chiara Ferragni or another celeb?

👗Victoria Beckham vs Gabrielle Union

If you're a 90s girl, it doesn't matter how much Victoria Beckham grew up in the fashion indursty, she always will be Posh Spice first!
This isn't VB's first time in this column and it's not the first time either of her being a contestant in a dress/outfit she designed! If you need a reminder click HERE
Victoria Beckham wore this piece from here Fall 2017 collection first, while in Dublin earlier this October, while attending the Estée Lauder launch event. She completed the look with black high boots and a messy updo.
Actress Gabrielle Union showed up in Victoria same outfit at the promotion of her book ‘We’re Going To Need More Wine’ at Barnes & Noble, later this October. She opted for an half up/ half down braided hairstyle and black open toe shoes.

10 Movies turned into Tv Series

From Harry Potter to James Bond (through Twilight, It and A Monster Call); from Game of Thrones to Handmaid's Tale and the Vampire Diaries, it's no news that we have been surrounded from movies and TV series...
What's pretty new, but it's already become popular, is to transfom the tv series in a movie...or viceversa.
From Limitless to Letal Weapon, here a list of the movies turned tv series!

1. Letal Weapon
THE MOVIE series is made of 4 films, from 1987 to 1998, and the protagonists were portrayed by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Being these cop movies, a mix of comedy and action sequences, they were perfect material for a Tv show and so...
THE 2016 TV SERIES sees Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford for the roles of the two cops. It appears they did a good job, because the series has already been renewed for a second season.

2. Fargo
THE 1996 MOVIE was directed by the Coen Brothers and, beside being a cult movie, it won the Prix de la mise en scène (Best Direction) at the Cannes Film Festival and two Academy Awards (Best Writing Original Screenplay and Best Actress In A Leading Role). The cast itself should win an award: Frances McDormand, William H. MacySteve Buscemi and Peter Stormare.
THE TV SERIES tells a different story for each season, with a different cast every time (like in AHS). It has been very well received both by critics and audience and won at the 2014 and 2016 Emmy Awards and Golden Globes.

3. Rush Hour
THE 1998 MOVIE with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker had 2 sequels (2001 and 2007). A few weeks ago Jackie Chan revealed the project for a 4th movie has started and that the shooting will start probably in 2018, as soon as Chris Tucker will agree to get back to play Detective James Carter.
THE TV SERIES with Jon Foo and Justin Hires (who's also in the MacGyver reboot), wasn't lucky as the movies and has been cancelled after the first season.

4. 10 things I hate about you
"Hello, Katarina. Make anyone cry today?"
"Sadly, no. But it's only 4:30."
THE MOVIE beside being my "go-to movie" when I want some 90's revival, this 1999 comedy's cast is full of promises: Julia Style, comedy queen in the 90ies, she worked in TV series like Dexter and Riviera. The male cast was composed by Heath Ledger, who won as Best Supporting Actor for The Dark Knight (posthumously) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, famous for combining indie movies like "500 days of Summer" and blockbusters like "Inception".
THE TV SERIES, however, wasn’t the hoped success and was not renewed after its first season.

5. Minority Report
THE MOVIE was one of the first I've ever seen with Tom Cruise, I did't love it nor hate it, but worldwide it received positive critics and was also nominated for many awards, including the Academy (in the technical categories).
THE TV SERIES reception, on the other hand, was very poor and the show has been cancelled after one season.

6. The Punisher

THE MOVIE focuses on Frank Castle/The Punisher and is based on a comic book character, created by writer Gerry Conway, artists John Romita Sr. and Ross Andru. There have been three big screen adaptations.
THE TV SERIES: the first season of the show will air on November, 17th thanks to Netfix.

7. Limitless
THE 2011 MOVIE was abot Edward Morra (Bradley Cooper), a drug addict/writer wannabe: he became that (and so much more) after taking NZT-48, a drug that higly amplifies the brain functions.
THE TV SERIES was based on the same concept, but the protagonist's name is Brian Finch (Jake McDorman), who goes from shirker to music genius after taking NZT. That sudden change led FBI first to investigate on him and after to hire him as "special consultant". The series was funny to me, but wasn't renewed for a second season.

8. Beowulf
THE 2007 MOVIE was based on the cominc book written and drawn by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary. What's interesting about it is that it was shot with the motion capture technique (like The Polar Express) and a videogame has been released in 2008 based on the movie's plot.
THE 2016 TV SERIES was a British production, but due to the poor share and mixed feelings reviews, it has been cancelled after the first season.

9. Lemony Snicket's: A series of Unfortunate Events
THE 2004 MOVIE with Jim Carrey playing Count Olaf has been nominated for tons of technical categories at various events, like  Critics' Choice Movie Award and  International Film Music Critics Award. It won the Academy Awards for Makeup.
THE 2017 TV SERIES, produced by Netflix, sees Neil Patrick Harris as in the role of the Count and the first season gathered a good audience and critics were positive. It has been already confirmed for a second and third season.
10. Cobra Kai
THE 1984 MOVIE quickly became a cult, with some of its quotes mentioned nowadays as well...Even if you never saw it, you'll know the "Wax on, wax off" mantra. After the first one, there have been 3 more, the 4th with a new protagonist (Hilary Swank, in the role of bullied young girl Julie Pierce). The latest movie of the series is actually more a reboot, with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan and it's set in China, not in America.
THE TV SERIES first airing is scheduled for August 2018 and will start off from the first movie, 30 years later. Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) is a success business owner, while his longtime enemy Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) tries to re open the unfamous karate dojo Cobra Kai...

Stay tuned, because in the next weeks you'll see the other way around: can you guess how many Tv Series have been adapted for the big screen?

UPDATE - Rumor has it that another comedy from the 90's is about to become a TV series...I'm talking about Four Weddings and a Funeral!

👗Keira Knightley vs Bruna Linzmeyer

It's weird to do a Gucci #WWIB and not having Salma Hayek as one of the contestants...
Anyway, back to business, shall we?
This Gucci Fall 2017 RTW floral piece has been seen first on British actress Keira Knightley, while at the BGC Charity Day, back in September. Keira is famous for her shabby chic/gipsy style so it was no surprise to see her hair left loose and she completed the outfit with sandy brown open toe sandals.
Brazilian actress Bruna Linmeyer attended the premiere of her latest movie "The Movie of my Life", screened during Rome Film Festival, on October, 30th.
She wore black open back shoes and, like Keira, left her short bob wild.

👗Emma Stone vs Lily Collins

Two of my favourite actresses wore the same elaborated Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 look, but it two very different ways and I seriously have hard times deciding which style I like most!
Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone wore the runway version of the look (it is orginally a dress) at 'La La Land' premiere in Paris, earlier this January. She styled it with black sandal, a wavy updo and a warm toned make up. Actress Lily Collins opted for just the top part of the dress and matched it with a pair of jeans and black heels while in front row at the Chanel Show durig the Paris Haute Couture fashion week, back in July. She opted for a smokey eye make up and not too styled wavy hair.

👗Annalise Basso vs Betty Bachz

Temperly London again!!
'Captain Fantastic' actress Annalise Basso wore this burgundy and metallic gold gown by Temperley London earlier this year, while attending the Hollywood Reporter`s Nominees Night party. She left her SPECTACULAR red hair down and loose and completed the look with 'barely there' make up and Emm Kuo clutch.
Earlier this October, model and MØY atelier co-founder Betty Bachz posed for the photographers at the BFI Luminous Fundraising Gala. She opted for a wavy hairstyle, a bright red clutch and brown pumps completed the outfit.

1892—Des Moines

Katherine Arthur and her family are back and it’s time to collect the money Mrs. Mellet left them in her will. The tidy sum will allow the family peace of mind and a future that’s stable and fulfilling. But when things don’t go exactly as planned, Katherine steps up to do more than her share. Hired as a kitchen mistress, her intuition (with the help of a mysterious recipe book), cooking prowess, and work ethic make her the perfect partner for the enigmatic, wealthy woman next door. Then Aleksey Zurchenko arrives.

Violet Pendergrass is a well-heeled, progressive woman with half a fortune in one hand and a plan for enduring prosperity in the other. Resourceful, shrewd, and tough, Violet doesn’t realize her one and only weakness leaves her vulnerable as she attempts to solidify her independence. She sees unparalleled value in Katherine’s gifts and does her best to keep the girl close, to keep her true work secret from her mother and the world.

Katherine’s loyalties to her mother and Violet grow strained and soon her commitment to both frays even further as her feelings for Aleksey grow. Katherine must decide if pursuing her work with the formidable Violet and protecting her family are more important than following love. Can she do it all? Are they even different things?

The Last Letter Series of novels by Kathleen Shoop is set in the Midwest of America in the late 19th and early 20th century. Inspired by family letters, the novels pull from historical events and places and feature the life and times of the fictional Arthur family as they make their way in the world.

"Kathleen Shoop is a master of emotional depth and creativity."  - K.C.Finn, Readers’ Favorite Reviewer

"The Kitchen Mistress is a beautiful story beautifully told. Kathleen Shoop is a master storyteller with a great gift for the first-person narrative, a voice she harnesses so well to create a dramatic effect on readers... One of the things I enjoyed about Shoop's writing is her mastery of the conflict. It is introduced very early in the narrative and it escalates pretty fast. I read the story nonstop, waiting eagerly for the satisfying denouement." -- Romuald Dzemo for Readers' Favorite

"The Kitchen Mistress is a beguiling story, with characters that feel so real the reader could almost believe they walk the same road with them. The protagonist has a complex world to navigate and it is interesting to see how she deals with her secrets, faces the challenges of her relationships and her work, and how she connects to herself. The Kitchen Mistress is delicately written, with a beautifully imagined plot, great prose, and memorable characters. I was seduced by the expert writing and could not stop reading until the last page." -- Arya Fomonyuy for Readers' Favorite

Letter Series (Book #1) - The Last Letter

Katherine wouldn't have believed it if she hadn't found the letter...
In the summer of 1905 Katherine Arthur's mother arrives on her doorstep, dying, forcing her to relive a past she wanted to forget. When Katherine was young, the Arthur family had been affluent city dwellers until shame sent them running for the prairie, into the unknown. Taking her family, including young Katherine, to live off the land was the last thing Jeanie Arthur had wanted, but she would do her best to make a go of it. For Jeanie's husband Frank it had been a world of opportunity. Dreaming, lazy Frank. But, it was a society of uncertainty--a domain of natural disasters, temptation, hatred, even death.

Ten-year-old Katherine had loved her mother fiercely, put her trust in her completely, but when there was no other choice, and Jeanie resorted to extreme measures on the prairie to save her family, she tore Katherine's world apart. Now, seventeen years later, and far from the homestead, Katherine has found the truth – she has discovered the last letter. After years of anger, can Katherine find it in her heart to understand why her mother made the decisions that changed them all? Can she forgive and finally begin to heal before it's too late?

Letter Series (Book #2) - The Road Home

Find your way home...

1891—Living separately for three years, fourteen-year-old twins, Katherine and Tommy Arthur, have done their best to make each boarding house feel like home. But unrest grows as they are driven to questionable actions just to survive. Meanwhile their desperate mother is confronted with breaking yet another promise to her children. Then a miracle descends. Hope rises on a cold, rainy night and changes everything. If Jeanie could just get word to Katherine and Tommy, she knows she can set their lives right again. Agitators, angels, and dangerous “saviors” illuminate the Arthurs’ unmatched determination and smarts.

1905—Though she tries to forget the awful years that hurt so much, the memories still haunt Katherine. Now, tearful mourners at her mother’s funeral force her to revisit a time in her life that both harmed and saved her in the most unexpected ways. Tommy grieves his mother’s passing as well. He too is thrust backward, compelled to rediscover the events in his life that shaped the man he has become. Will he commit to reconstructing his broken life? The Family Letters
Luckily for author Kathleen Shoop, her ancestors kept hold of letters that are now between 100 and 120 years old. The first set of letters was handed down to Shoop from her mother. They appear in the collection called My Dear Frank. They are sweet and hopeful love letters written to Frank Arthur from his then-fiancé, Jeanie Scouller. My Dear Frank only contains Jeanie’s letters to Frank, as his were lost or destroyed at some point. However, for readers who love to bask in the past, Jeanie’s letters make it easy to understand much of what Frank had said, as she responds as quickly as she possibly could. (Read more about My Dear Frank.)

Available to buy from...

The second set of letters, Love From Mama, was written in the early 20th century. This collection is larger than the love letters as it contains correspondence by Jeanie, Frank, her children, some friends and also relatives. This non-fiction look into the past is a treasure for anyone who loves history in its raw, but real form! (Coming Soon)

👗 Bellamy Young vs Crown Princess Mary of Denmark

It's time for a royal #WWIB once again!
'Scandal' actress Bellamy Young wore this light blue Temperley London lace dress first, this past August, while attending the Disney ABC Television Group TCA summer tour. It indeed has a strong summer vibe and she completed the look with gold sandals, wavy locks and natural make up.
The same dress, but in its white version, has been worn by Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, on day 2 of her royal tour of Japan. She attended a few events in Kanazawa, Ishikawa prefecture.
The Crown Princess styled the dress with light blue pumps and a Japanese inspired hairstyle: a low updo embellished with a white orchid.

Who do you think wore it better?
Bellamy Young or Crown Princess Mary of Denmark?

This is your big plan?’ Ash asked. ‘You’re going to row all the way to Eden.’ His voice dripped with sarcasm. ‘At this rate, we’ll be there next year – oh wait, that’s right, you don’t have a year.’ ‘Unless you have a plane, this is the best I can do,’ Charlie said. ‘There’s an idea,’ Oren said. She regarded Ash. ‘We could fly.’ ‘Now there’s a plan,’ Ash said. ‘You have a plane?’ Charlie asked. Ash grinned. ‘I have something way better.’ Removing his sword from around his shoulder, its black leather sheath protected with metal guards at both ends, he tossed it to Oren, who caught it with a firm grip, and then walked away from the group. ‘Where’s he going?’ Charlie asked. ‘He’s going to change,’ Oren replied. ‘Change his clothes?’ Oren smiled. ‘No. He’s going to shape-shift.’ The trio shot nervous glances at one another and then looked at Ash. They were aware that Aeons and Lightworkers could change form, but apart from seeing Avaran’s giant frame, they had never witnessed a full transformation. Though, if it was anything like Derkein’s transformation, Charlie thought, it wouldn’t be a pleasant sight. Ash turned to face the group and got down on his hands and knees. Right away, he started to twitch, and then his body tensed. It happened in under a minute: the throbbing of his veins, the bulging of his muscles, his fingernails growing into long, sharp claws, his arms and legs stretching to obscene lengths and his smooth skin becoming rough and scaly. The trio froze, their jaws dropped, eyes wide open. Where Ash had been standing only seconds ago now stood a terrifying monster. Standing nearly nine feet tall and seven feet in length – excluding its tail – it had a head shaped like an acorn with two backswept horns that were the same ivory shade as its claws and teeth. Even if Charlie hadn’t seen the transformation with his own eyes, he still would have recognised Ash behind the beast’s eyes and its fiery red skin, the same tone as Ash’s hair. ‘Is that a dragon?’ Richmond asked in a high-pitched voice. ‘Yes,’ Oren answered. ‘He’s not dangerous, right?’ Charlie asked. ‘You needn’t worry,’ Oren assured them. ‘It is still Ash. He will not harm you.’ Charlie started walking towards Ash, who set into a crouch as he approached. ‘He can’t talk, can he?’ He glanced behind him at Oren, who was following him. Alex and Richmond were still standing on the bridge. ‘No, he cannot talk,’ Oren said. ‘When in animal form, Aeons and Lightworkers of the same kingdom can communicate telepathically.’ Charlie moved alongside the dragon, his eyes locked on Ash’s giant bat-like wing. He looked up and saw hard, huge red eyes fixed on him. ‘I think I prefer this version of Ash. Less noise.’ Something thwacked him on the back, and he stumbled forward, dropping onto his hands and knees. ‘Charlie,’ he heard Alex scream. She was by his side in seconds, helping him up. Oren took his other arm. He turned around and saw Ash’s wing extended. He could swear he was smirking – if dragons could smirk.
