Get Her Look : Berenice Bejo' Style

Berenice Bejo is a French actress, suddenly became famous in 2011 with the black and white mute movie "The Artist". Since then she filmed quite a few movies, included Populaire (I reviewed it here).
She has a simple style. The one in the photo below is from the Italian magazine "IoDonna". I immediately fell in love with the dress and I found one similar on Sammydress.com (click here to take a look!)

Hope you are enjoying my "Get Her Look" posts!

Movie Review: Populaire

Populaire (2012) by Régis Roinsard.
With  Romain Duris, Déborah François, Bérénice Bejo and Shaun Benson

Here's the plot (SPOILER ALLEART!!)

It's 1958 and the protagonist of this French comedy is Rose. She's a small town girl with great ambition and the terrific ability of typing very fast with only two fingers. Her father is the local drugstore owner and wants Rose to be the salesgirl, but he doesn't know that meanwhile Rose has taken a few interviews for secretary jobs, for which she's terrible at.

Even so, Monsieur Louis Échard gives her the job in his insurance agency because he unterstood that her ability can take Rose very far in the competion for the fastest typist. If she wants the job, she has to compete. But after losing her first match, Monsieur Échard decides to train Rose himself and make her moved in his own home.

Today's Obsession : Ear cuffs

Ear cuffs are not just simple earrings and I think we all noticed it! This year MET gala theme was "Punk in Fahion" and actresses and models showed their punk side adding to their look this mix between an earring and a chain.

Get Her Look : Cristiana Capotondi on IoDonna 23/11/2013 cover

Italian actress Cristiana Capotondi was on the cover of November, 23rd issue of IoDonna (an Italian weekly female magazine). She was interviewed about her love life and her upcoming movies, one is a Christmas movie (the Engish translantion is "Guess who's coming at Christmas?") and the other is a drama/comedy about mafia...

For the photoshoot she wore all Valentino's dresses...the one she's wearing on the cover of the magazine is my favourite and guess what?! You can have it!
Choise.com is selling a similar dress, click here and take a look!

Novel Of The Week - Fallen by Lauren Kate

I was on holiday when I saw the paper campaign of Fallen by Lauren Kate two years ago and, since there was just the title and the name of the author, the only thing I could judge this book for was its cover…in some ways it intrigued me, so when I came back home I decided to read it.

Here’s the plot :

7 movies for Christmas

Christmas is only 7 weeks away and what better way to get into the mood than 7 "Christmas themed" movies? Nothing!
So here's my list... Don't worry, I didn't choose "Home Alone" with Macaulay Culkin. I trust it will be on air December 24th or 25th...
  1. Jack Frost (1998) by Troy Miller with Michael Keaton and Kelly Preston. Personally, this is my favourite...It's a bit old, but I love the father-son hockey scene...I always end up crying!!!
  2. Love Actually (2003) by Richard Curtis with Hugh GrantColin FirthAlan RickmanBill NighyKeira Knightley and Rowan Atkinson.
  3. The Family Man (2000) by Brett Ratner with Nicolas Cage and Téa Leoni
  4. Four Christmases (2008) by Seth Gordon with Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon
Love actually and Four Christmases are for those who wants to laugh and have a look on how other people react to festivities. The family man is, as contrary, the answer to the classical question "What if...?" I think that (along with Con Air), this is my favourite Nicolas Cage's movie.

The Family Man Movie PosterExtra Large Movie Poster Image for Four Christmases

Then we have the animated movies :
  1. Rise of the Guardians (2012) animation movie by Peter Ramsey, based upon William Joyce's novels....Actually, it has NOTHING to do with Christmas, in fact it is set during Easter, BUT Santa Klaus is one of the protagonist and it's still a beautiful story of helping others and believing in good.
  2. The Polar Express (2004) animation movie by Robert Zemeckis with Tom Hank's voice
  3. Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) animation movie by Henry Selick. It's a forced choise, it's equally wierd, genius and a bit disturbing...even if you've already seen it more than one.

Hope you enjoyed the list and let the Christmas season begin!!

Today's Obsession : Pixie Cut

It all started with Halle Barry and Agyness Deyn (my favourite model!!!) rocking the famous short hair cut known as “pixie cut”…Then it became a trend and actresses and model started cutting their hair (sometimes only for script requirements like Anne Hathaway)…. Some of them had it bon-ton and some others like Miley Cyrus and Agyness Deyn more rock'&'roll!
Last victim? The gorgeous Jennifer Lawrence. Here’s some “before-after” cut, who do you think is better with short hair? I personally love this hair cut so bad!

They only tried to make our world a better place to live and for that are in prison from almoust two months.

I'll gave you some link (from the italian's office and from the international one) for informations on how help these innocente people.  Please take 5 minutes of your time to read them and give an hand!

Today's Obsession : Stripes versus Pois

I admit without any shame that I'm crazy about stripes! If it was for me, my wardrobe would be made only of striped clothes.
And then we have pois (a.k.a polka dots)...Elegant, chic and vintage at the same time.
One thing they sure have in common: they never go out ot style!

City Break - Istanbul, Turkey

I've always been intrigued by Eastern  Europe, so I tought that Istanbul, Turkey could have been the perfect start. Why? Because Istanbul is exactly along the historic Silk Road, rail networks to Europe and the Middle East, so it combined two cultures...

I've been there almost a year ago and the city I've found was incredible! I was lucky enogh to find one day of rainy weather out of the three I've been there, friendly people and so much to see and visit that I might have been there at least one week!

Obviously I visited Hagia Sophie's Museum (Ayasofya Müzesi in Turkish). Originally was built as a Greek Orthodox church, then changed to a Roman Catholic church, then it has been Islamic mosque and nowadays is a museum...Its beauty is breath taking as well as another amazing mosque Sultanahmet camii (a.k.a the Blue Mosque).

Some charming and interesting turistic places are: Basilica Cistern, is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie 150m beneath the city.
There's a bridge over the river Bosphorus that link the asias part with the european one and the famous Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldes covered markets of entire world.
Inside the Basilica Cister

I really enjoyed my time there and I'm looking foward to go again, maybe staying more than a short week end. There's nothing negative I can say about Istanbul!!
